Life Update | Montegiordano | Calabria

As the title might explains already: there will be just photos of Montegiordano, but there won't be any big description of the place, simply because I don't know much about Montegiordano (we only go there to grab some fish during summers) aaand... My God! What happened? I totally forgot to take care of my blog! Life was so dramatic lately! xD

Rende | Calabria

While this year I was finally able to see my boyfriend's home city's old city centre (Cosenza | Calabria), last year during our winter vacation I was able to see his home suburb town's old city centre. I hope someone understood this sentence, because I didn't haha. With Italy it's this thing. The country is divided into different "layers" of administration. Zio explained this really heartily to me last year: First there is Italy, then comes the region (like Calabria), then comes the province (like Cosenza) and then comes the comune/municipality (like Rende - Random in Rende | Calabria). So, my boyfriend originates from Rende, which is a small city really close to the big city of Cosenza. It is that close, that I didn't even realise we left one city to go to another when going by car. Well. He originates from Rende, so today I will show you photos I shot in the old city centre of Rende. Cosenza is his province, so few weeks ago I basically showed you photos of his province's capital's old town centre. WTF. Why is this so hard to write in English? :D

Project 365 | 42 - 47: Rise and Fall

365 - 042: I had a beautiful Sunday with my boyfriend, who came back quite early from his tour (he is musician and currently tours mainly Germany). He created a new pesto recipe and I strongly recommend him to do it again. It was great!

Tropea | Calabria

Last year me and my boyfriend went to Tropea, a city in the province Vibo Valentia in Calabria. Unlike other places in Calabria that I got to know until then, Tropea is a quite touristic spot. It was full of Swedes, British and I guess also Germans (toilet signs were translated into German). That was a quite new experience for me, because Calabria seemed so untouched by tourism to me.

As much as I enjoy tourism (I work in tourism) I enjoy spending my time abroad in places, where you can get in touch with the local culture. Of course, there is also a lot of tourism in Cosenza - even in Roseto Capo Spulico, the place where we always hang. But the tourists coming to that place are all Italian. Great thing for me, because I want to learn Italian. :) When I went to Argentina to learn a bit of Spanish (yeah, I know - they speak dialect), there were way too many people speaking English - even German - I came back home barely able to speak Spanish. So I always enjoy being in the South of Italy. Calabria is not that overrun. Here are my photo impressions of Tropea!

Project 365 | 34 - 41: Wind of Change

365 - 034: Sorry for the epic title, but I felt so different this week. It kind of started last weekend. The parcel with my micronutrients arrived and it seems I am having a breakthrough in fighting my inflamed thyroid. Last Saturday I woke up not feeling tired for the first time in two years. I used the day and I felt so good. It's kind of a new feeling. I got really used to have really short days: work, eat, sleep. Also my free days looked like this: getting up, chores, sleep, eat, sleep. Now I don't know what to do with all this energy. I am simply not used to not feel tired. But I guess I will figure out, haha... If this effect lasts. Last Saturday I used the energy to check out the Grunewaldsee in Berlin. Unfortunately I am scared of dogs and there were basically more dogs than people. Well. It was a short trip.

2015: This year I want to recook...

I already told you in my last post (Random in Rende | Calabria) that I want to mix my content a bit more and that I don't want to put so many throwbacks, throwbacks, throwbacks onto my blog. Well. Today comes a throwback. xD Buuut, at least it's not about Italy. It's about food. I was browsing through my old photos, because I was looking for some inspiration in terms of cooking. My boyfriend and I cooked a lot in 2015, 2016 and 2017 and I want to have a revival of this hobby we share. Browsing through the photos I realised: we have a good bunch of recipes that I want to recook this year! So here is my list of 2015 recipes that I want to recook in 2018!

Random in Rende | Calabria

First blog crisis? I don't know what is it with this and last week, but somehow I have these doubts about my "content." Of course I like the topics I blog about. But somehow I don't feel okay with the way I present the content. I am not a good writer and my latest posts felt a bit heartless... That might be, because the posts are all throwback posts, so also a lot of emotions already faded. I wish I could mix the content a bit more (new + old photos), buuut... I have this urge to close this Italy topic, so I want to share all photos I got NOW and only now. You know? I wanna put the check onto my imaginary throwback list, haha.
